Live band
Yesterday we went out for dinner with friends. The atmosphere was just right, open air, cool breeze, good company and a live band playing the famous songs in Hindi. We were busy talking when Prisha called out to me- " mummy, listen, there is nice music". She closed her eyes and shook her head to it and gestured with her hand about how she was enjoying.I was so happy. As from the beginning we have been using a lot of singing , she has got used to enjoying it. She has now picked up the Indian National Anthem and sings it with a few mistakes of words here and there. Go Girl......

That's great! I've heard that music appreciation is valuable not only for its own sake but because it can improve speech perception, so I'm glad she's developing that appreciation.
ReplyDeleteAny luck on finding Dry & Store products? I asked on the listen-up list serve whether people had used the dessicant jars with the beads that you re-activate in the microwave. Some people had, and said they were pretty effective. Not as good as Dry & Store, but cheaper, and you wouldn't need to buy the dessicant bars.
Also, if you're not a member already, I recommend you join the listen-up list serve. Here's the website: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Listen-Up/
Most of the members are in the US, but there are some from other countries, and it's a great place to ask questions about helping children with hearing loss. You could ask whether anyone else has dealt with the boils.
Go, Prisha! I've heard that music is very important and can help with speech tone and rhythm. We do a lot of nursery rhymes and songs, even though I can't carry a tune in a bucket!
