An interesting blog

I came across this post in the blog that I follow. I too agree with him that HA benefit the child and he learns to talk , why implant the child. Of course, each to his own. But I loved the information this blog provides.I added the link for other people too.

  1. That is a very interesting blog. I don't know what we would do if Nolan should ever drop down into the CI qualifying range- for now he only has a moderately severe mixed loss, so we do not have to worry about it. It is a difficult decision to make, and I know every parent carefully reviews the facts before deciding to implant.

  2. I really hope his problems are over. His share of them is over and he needs to have some rocking time.

  3. I certainly hope so, too! At least his EEG was normal, so we can stop worrying about seizures. I think the "zoning out" is caused by the severe apnea at night- if he isn't sleeping well because he isn't breathing/getting enough oxygen, then it would make sense that he is so tired that he stops and stares during the day.

I found some other parents who deal with central apnea- their kids are on bipap or on oxygen at night. It helps their little ones a lot, so once we get Nolan sorted, he should do a lot better!

  6. Hi Unazia, Thx for writing in. I hope you have gone thru the entire blog. I have very detailed posts about what to talk to a child. It is nothing difficult but it has to be done religiously for results to show. You need to talk to the child constantly about what is happening around you. Also we sit with the child in each session with ma'am as it is the mum who needs to be trained as she spends max time with the child. You need to keep telling her things and then you need to make sure the instructions have been understood by cross checking. Go thru my old posts and also hear the speech therapy videos in the name of rouchi6. do follow and practice as we have had another such case and the child is talking very well within 8 months.Do follow and give me feedback. I am shifting to Germany but would be doing this still. All the best and hope to have more interaction with each other.
